Facebook Updates News Feed by Showing More Timely Stories From Friends and Pages: With this new change, “when a friend or page you are connected to posts about something that is currently a hot topic of conversation on Facebook, that post is more likely to appear higher up in news feed, so you can see it sooner.”

SlideShare Introduces Animated GIF Feature: “GifDeck, a new tool developed by one of [their] Delhi-based engineers, Jai Pandya, will convert your SlideShare into an animated GIF.”

Facebook Quietly Pulls Personal Promoted Posts From Profiles: “Facebook silently pulled a controversial feature, which allowed users to pay to get their posts more visibility in the news feed.”

Facebook Tailors Ad Delivery Based on Feedback: Facebook will now take into account the specific reason why you didn't want to see a particular ad, and use that as a signal to inform whether they show the ad to other people. Facebook is also “going to pay more attention to feedback from people who don't often hide ads so that when they do give us feedback, we take it as a stronger signal.”

Facebook Introduces Facebook Media: “To highlight great examples and new trends illustrating how public figures, organizations and media are using Facebook to connect with their audiences.”


App Annie Advertising Analytics Supports Facebook: “The addition of Facebook as a supported ad platform now lets you track all your Facebook advertising data alongside your app's download and revenue metrics in a matter of seconds.”
