    by Cindy King / February 26, 2011

social media researchWelcome to our weekly edition of what's hot in social media news. To help you stay up to date with social media, here are some of the news items that caught our attention.

    What's New This Week?

Google Shows Your Social Graph in Search Results: Google has updated its algorithm to share more social information in search results. Now your Twitter friends, Flickr friends and blogging friends can all show up in your search results for everyday topics. Watch the below video to see how it works.

Tumblr Launches the Explore Page: Tumblr users are now encouraged to tag their photos.  The new Explore page organizes and filters posts with these tags and stimulates community interaction.

Every tagged post has a chance to show up in front of an audience of millions that might not otherwise see it.

InboxQ Takes on Quora With Questions on Twitter: This new tool “delivers a realtime stream of questions related to your business, products, industry or general interests from Twitter directly to your browser.” It's worth checking out even if it's currently only available on Chrome (and soon on FireFox).
